TED Talk

For the past couple months, I have been preparing for my TED talk. A TED talk is where you stand in front of an audience and explain something that's important to you. That's why the Harmony team teachers assigned us each to do one on our project.
It was a good experience, although I was very nervous. I think that I got my point across to the audience, and that was the whole point, so I feel good about what I did. I hope that everyone understands now why I chose the project I did, and why it was so important to me.

Over the Weekend...

Over the weekend I worked on a door which I am recreating it into a headboard. I sanded it down to get all of the old paint off, then me and my dad cut it down to the size of a queen sized bed. Now, I am planning on painting it black. If you have ordered something recently, don't worry! It is coming! I got a lot of orders all at once, and now I am working on them on a first come, first serve basis. Thank you if you have made an order! Every dollar counts! If you have any questions, email me at creationsforcancer@gmail.com

Trivia Night

Over the weekend, Hixson had their parent/teacher trivia night. I had gotten in contact with one of the people in charge and had explained my project to them. I expressed my want of a table in the silent auction. She was very kind and agreed to help. So, the message board, and the picture frame headed to trivia night. I had but a value on the message board of $30 dollars, and it sold for $25. The picture frame however, sold for more than I had expected. I had valued it at $40 and it sold for $60! I am so happy I got a chance to put some of my items in the silent auction and I just wanted to thank anyone that helped me achieve this first step.

Also, we found an antique booth! We will be selling at Consign and Design, 10036 Manchester RoadOur re-creations will be held in the booth with the,"And Another Thing..." sign and are only the items that have the tag with the Creations for Cancer logo on it.

Idea Showcase

Today we had the idea showcase. It was a great opportunity to show people in the community what I was doing. If you don't know what the idea showcase is, basically, everyone makes a poster about their idea and then people from the school district, our parents, and the community will come in and ask us questions about our projects. Overall, I think it went really well and I am really glad people are liking my items. Below are some pictures of my finished products, and their prices. The price of the frame I posted before is $45.
